Heavy Equipment And Transport Technology/Construction Equipment Systems
There are several reasons why someone should consider the Heavy Equipment and Transport Technology program, including high demand for technicians, competitive wages, benefits, and advancement potentials due to technology improvements. Our programs are designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and basic skills needed to troubleshoot and repair construction equipment systems. Construction equipment includes dozers, scrapers, loaders, and forklifts.
Our curriculum assumes that the student has little or no knowledge of heavy equipment repair. We start all students with the basics and progress to troubleshooting and repair. However, it is beneficial to have basic knowledge of computers, electricity, electronics, and mechanical repairs.
Course work includes:
- Theory of Operations
- Troubleshooting Techniques
- Brakes
- Undercarriage
- Repair Procedures for Engines, Electrical, Electronics, Transmission, Hydraulic, and Other Support Systems
