Welding Technology Department
Welders are the backbone of the industrial world. They are the ones who permanently join metals together in the most efficient and economical way. Welders make almost everything we use in our daily lives, and also help build factories and equipment used to make non-metal products. Currently there is a shortage of welders with the knowledge and skills that are needed in the welding industry. Consequently, job opportunities are plentiful.
The Welding Technology curriculum is designed to teach students the science behind welding. Welding is a process by which materials are joined together using heat and/or pressure. Courses are geared to develop practical welding skills that can be used to obtain a career in the welding industry.
Hands-On Training Includes:

Employment:
Employment for welders can be found in fabrication shops, structural welding on buildings and bridges, pipe welding on chemical and nuclear power plants, aircraft, robotics, and weld-employment. You can also own your own business.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook predicts that employment of welders and welding machine operators will increase by 4.7% by 2055. Because the skill level and competence of welders varies widely, so does the pay scale. Graduates at entry level start around $24,000 a year.
